Missing 17-year-old girl dies in road mishap after 'rape'

FARIDABAD: A 17-year-old girl, who was reported missing since Wednesday, has died in a road accident. A resident of Dabua Colony in Faridabad and a Class XII student, she left for her coaching class at 8am on Wednesday and was supposed to be back by 11. However, her family received news of her death in a road mishap about 3pm. The family reached Sector 55 police station and found Dhiraj, a resident of Palwal district, providing the details of the accident. It was he who allegedly got her to accompany him to Palwal and also allegedly raped her. He was then dropping her home on his bike when it was hit by a truck. The girl, who was injured, was declared dead on arrival at a hospital. Both Dhiraj and the truck driver have been arrested. A case has been registered. Police are now investigating whether or not this is the first instance of rape of the girl by the accused.
